What Students, Parents and Educational Experts are Saying about Campus Calm University:

Maria Pascucci writes with the wisdom and sympathy of an elder and the wit and coolness of her generation.

Speaking with the assurance born of personal experience, Maria extends a most welcome hand to the pressured, stressed-out and frequently impaired students inhabiting our high schools and colleges. She is direct, honest, helpful and encouraging; her blueprint for reclaiming life comes not a moment too soon.

I highly recommend her book for every high school and college student and also for parents who need to understand the costs to their children of our high-stakes, high-pressure culture.

author of The Price of Privilege: How Parental Pressure and Material Advantage are Creating a Generation of Materialistic and Unhappy Kids

College is simply one chapter in life’s journey, and a grade point average is little more than a sentence in that chapter. Obsessing over this or any single aspect of the higher education process robs students of the fun, richness and true educational benefits available by fully engaging in the overall college experience.

Maria Pascucci has created a blueprint that will help students capture the true joy that should permeate every part of going to college. Her advice is invaluable for current and future college students … and great counsel for all of us who may from time to time lose sight of what is really important in life.

I am a college freshman who has been at the University of New Hampshire for about one month. The first week was the hardest week of my life, I had major anxiety attacks, was throwing up, and couldn’t eat or sleep…

Words cannot express how much the Campus Calm University book and website have helped me to realize that I’m not alone and that there are ways to deal with the inevitable stress and anxiety that come with such a huge transition as entering college.

Whenever I’m feeling anxious or stressed, I come to this website, or read a chapter in the book, and I immediately start to feel better.

In today’s high pressure, ‘must be everything to everybody’ world, it’s easy to forget to take care of your most important asset—yourself! Kudos to Maria for helping to keep our priorities straight!

I just finished your AMAZING book last night, and I wanted you to know that YOU ARE MY HERO. I am SO glad I got to meet you in person when I attended your session ‘Get #PerfectlyImperfect & Lead!’ at NCCWSL…I know I was not the only one who felt like you were inside our heads, telling our stories too.

I’ve always been a perfectionist; I remember my orchestra teacher telling me in high school that I was totally Type A, and my own toughest critic. I didn’t really dwell about that in high school, for I was learning how to not punish myself over one bad grade, and to reassure myself that I’m not going to be good at every single subject. Well, my inner perfectionist may have left my academic side in high school, but in college, she reared her mean, doubting head and constantly cut down the musician side of me.

It’s pretty difficult to be proud of yourself as a performer when you dwell on every mistake, or never seem to be good enough, despite the countless hours of practicing and preparing. When my friends, and even my professors, tell me I did wonderful, I think they’re lying to me, or just saying that to be nice. How could they POSSIBLY be proud of ME? I can’t even be proud of me. After having a heart-to-heart with my orchestra professor/new mentor last semester, I promised myself that this summer, I was going to change the way I think of myself.

THANK GOODNESS FOR YOUR BOOK! I adored every chapter of it…especially the ones about ditching that perfectionist and learning to self-love. I will be doing those self-love activities every day 🙂 I cannot thank you enough for all of your work towards making our world a “stress-less” place; you are truly an inspiration. Life is way too short…why not fill it with all the happiness possible?! Thanks again…don’t ever change!

Campus Calm is way ahead of its time—an organization that recognizes that today’s students are incredibly high achieving and also totally overworked and overwhelmed. Accolades and A’s are not what life, ultimately, is about.Campus Calm University reminds us to enjoy the view and teaches us how.

The book Campus Calm Universityis an affirming testimony for the stressed out college student who has lost himself or herself in the process of “making the grade”.

Maria Pascucci pokes fun at herself and uses her personal experience to encourage students to reconnect with their passion and enjoy the college experience. She encourages students to trust their inner wisdom, find balance, take risks and nurture their love of learning. Her tone is encouraging and her message, very refreshing!

Campus Calm University helps so many people: the perfectionist, GPA-stressed high school student; a broken-down, disillusioned college student who sees “Undecided Major” as a death sentence instead of a doorway to opportunities; or possibly an astray twentysomething who thought knowledge ended with the tossing of his graduation cap.

Through Maria Pascucci’s writings, one can find the true ‘secrets’ to understanding how perfectionism, low self-esteem, and a loss of sleep and nutrition will affect ALL aspects of a person’s life. Campus Calm University ultimately speaks that a healthy, happy life filled with love and gratitude is not the key to success, but success itself.
