Adding some oomph and power to your workout.
If you feel as if your workout needs a bit of power and energy add this multi-part move to increase your heart rate, and burn more calories. It’s a great strengthening piece for your core, chest, back, and legs.
A Burpee is a 5-part exercise done as rapidly and explosively as possible. BUT you must make sure you are performing each part with correct form and alignment.
Begin by standing up straight and reach your arms toward the ceiling. Squat down and place your hands on the floor in front of you, shoulder distance apart. Jump your feet backwards until you are in a push up position. Once you reach this position, immediately jump your knees forward so that you are again in squat position with your hands placed on the floor in front of you. Now that you have returned back to this position, immediately jump as high as you can, extending your arms overhead.
Repeat this exercise 10 times as fast as you can, maintaining proper
form, and alignment.
Once you have mastered this move, increase the challenge by adding between 1 and 3 tricep pushups, when you reach your pushup position.
