Make a time line for papers and projects. When you have a paper or project assigned, work backward to create intermediate deadlines. Estimate the time it will take to do research, a rough draft, visuals, final copy, etc. Set your final deadline a couple of days before the actual due date to reduce your stress level. Assign intermediate deadlines for each step. Schedule in the estimated time for each step, allowing for some extra time, again to reduce stress. And finally, follow your schedule! You’ll be able to produce a better paper or project because you have time to evaluate and polish.
