Youth Entrepreneurship Expert’s Tip of the Month – September

Have you ever heard the phrase “Everyone wants to be successful but no one wants to work hard”? Below are a few basic things that you can do to help you be successful in whatever it is that you might want to achieve:

Set Goals – What is it that you want to accomplish? When do you want to accomplish it? What do you have to do to accomplish it? Why is this important to you?

Stay Focused – Setting goals was the easy part, this is the hard part. Far too many individuals cannot stay focused on specific tasks to see them completed and completed well, which is the difference between the successful and the majority. The sooner you learn and are able to block out all distractions (emotional, social, materialistic, etc) the easier it will be for you to stay focused on your objectives.

Constantly Grow – Be flexible. Remember, things will more than likely never go as planned. If issues or obstacles “pop up” learn to find ways around them so that you can still reach your destination. Never come to an obstacle and turn back. Tip: When mapping out your trip while “setting your goal” try to think of any obstacles that you may come to head with in the future and try to map out roads to take that will take you around it, and still to your destination, perhaps even with time to spare! Always look for opportunities to learn new things. The more things you know or experience, the broader your area of reference and your ability to recognize opportunities will be.
