Youth Entrepreneurship Expert’s Tip of the Month – June

Do you have a mentor in your life? A mentor is a person who has experience in a particular field of interest, personal or professional, who is willing to take time to share his or her experiences with you. It’s up to you to learn every possible thing from mentors. Be sure to pull out the positives and learn or improve from the negatives. I find myself engaged in conversation all the time with individuals older than me. This is how you get years of wisdom at a young age! It re-energizes me to learn a new perspective and you will find others will want to help you, if you are “hungry” for success.

Mentors can come in all positions, ages and from different walks of life. You could even be a mentor! How? What do you have experience in that you might be able to share with someone else? Perhaps you are in high school; you could be a mentor for an elementary or middle school student. Or maybe you started your own business and would like to help another young person learn the basics about operating a business, too.
