Never Pass Up A Lemonade Stand

When you see a kid with a lemonade stand, do you stop because you’re thirsty or because you want to make a child’s day? Never pass up the opportunity to make someone’s day. Find it in your heart to do something special every chance you get.

Life is all about giving. When you give of yourself, you end up getting so much more in return. Always be thinking about what you can do to make someone else’s day special.

One of the keys to building strong relationships is making people feel special. Go out of your way to let people know you appreciate them. Send them e-mails thanking them for their work on a project. Leave them voice mails thanking them for coming to your rescue when your printer wouldn’t work. Consider doing something special when they least expect it.

If you truly want someone to “feel the love,” bring them food. Seriously, people will do anything for food. Think about it. You love it when someone brings something to eat. The whole place lights up. It’s a great morale booster.

So, if you want to develop or strengthen your relationships internally or externally, you need to find a good chocolate chip cookie or cake recipe. Baking is like therapy for me. If it’s not your thing, just buy something. They’ll love you just the same.

I’d love to hear from you. Please send me an email, and let me know what’s on your mind. What topics would you like me to cover in future columns?
