Are you getting enough sleep? If not, you are sabotaging your success! Make sure you schedule a bedtime that allows you to get enough sleep. If you need to, get a sleep mask (in the luggage section at WalMart or Target), get a fan to block out noise, and talk to your roommate about how to make it work.
Don’t get into the habit of afternoon naps or of neglecting your sleep. If you find you are sleep deprived (symptom: you fall asleep when you are sitting in class), start going to bed earlier and sleep in later when you can (but don’t miss class!). But try to avoid the “college afternoon nap” at all costs. It messes up your sleep patterns and keeps you from getting the long, uninterrupted rest your body needs at night.
